Script writing tips 2: Have a script outline.

By Vera C Uzokwe

Script outline makes scripting easier.

This might just be the most important part of writing a script as far as I am concerned. Creating a script outline makes the work easier, helps me focus, and gives my writing direction.

What is a script outline by the way? It is the scene by scene breakdown of your movie. While doing a script outline, you write down what happens in each scene and then come back to do the proper dialogues etc.

Having a script outline doesn’t necessarily mean that you will follow it through to the end, but like I said earlier, it gives you direction and focus. By the time you are writing the main script, you won’t waste time or be distracted, trying to figure out what happens in a scene.

Until I come back with the next tip, Happy scripting!
