LUKAKU, A REJECTED STONE?

By Richard Stephen

In 2011 Lukaku signed a five-year contract with premier league club Chelsea for a reported fee of 17million pounds.

However, Lukaku mainly played as a reserve and frequently shipped out on loan deals until he left the club for Premier League Club, Everton.

While at Chelsea, Lukaku emphasized he was dissatisfied with his involvement at the end of his debut season, disclosing that, after his side’s UEFA Champions League win in the final on 19 May, he refused to hold the trophy, explaining “it wasn’t me, but my team that won”.

Today Chelsea have reportedly made a €100m + Marcos Alonso bid for Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku, the Inter Milan board have however rejected the bid, stating that “Lukaku is untouchable”.

Talk about the rejected stone turning gold.
