World Cup Qualifiers: Super Eagles of Nigeria beat Cape Verde 2-1

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are successfully sitting at the top of Group C table of the 2022 world cup qualifiers match after succeeding in beating Cape Verde in a 2:1 goal.

Cape Verde scored the first goal at the 19th minute. After 10 minutes , the Eagles equalised with a goal scored by Victor Osimhen, and subsequently dominated the rest of the match.

An own goal by Kenny Rocha Santos of the Cape Verde team, at the 74th minute earned the 6 point win for the Nigerian super Eagles, 3 points ahead of Liberia who are second with their 3 points.

The group winners winners will advance to the third and final stage of the competition, and from there, the five African teams that will go to the main World Cup games will be determined.

Nigeria’s next match is in October against Central Africa Republic
