Manchester City as is their tradition, dealt with the German side Leipzig to a stunning 6:3 win.
New signing, Jack Grealish scored a superb first debut Champions League goal as Manchester City survived Christopher Nkunku’s hat-trick to beat RB Leipzig 6-3 in Group A opener on Wednesday.
The England international revealed that the joy of playing in the Champions League actually made him to leave his former club Aston Villa to join City in a club record of £100 million ($138 million) move in the close-season.
“I loved it. The past few weeks, I couldn’t wait for this game,” Grealish said.
“I’ve actually played in the Champions League now and it was amazing – the music and everything and the game just topped it all off.
“When I’m in that position, running into the area I’d back myself one-on-one against anyone and it paid off. It was a great night.”
The likes of Ake, and Grealish, Mahrez, Cancelo and Jesus had their names on the score board. Kevin de Bruyne also performed well while playing his first match after an ankle injury.
“Leipzig never give up. They play all or nothing,” Guardiola said in a post match interview.
“We scored a few minutes after they scored and it helped us a lot.” he concluded.
Mancity will be facing Southampton in premier league this weekend.
