X factor star, Freddie Combs is reportedly dead at the age of 49 due to kidney failure.
From reports, the singer who took part in the US version of Simon Cowell’s hit TV talent show, X Factor, was said to be surrounded by family and friends when he died at a hospital in Florida.
According to the wife Kay, Freddie had been shedding weight over the past 11 years, losing an incredible 37 stone after going from 64 stone to 27 stone.
She went on to acknowledge that was a good 25 years of marriage between them: “I have so much gratitude to be his wife for 25 years and to be his best friend.”, Kay said.
Freddie Combs was first given an opportunity to feature in X factor during the second series of the US version so far as he got healthy and was able to leave his wheelchair, which he vowed to do.
The host of the show, Simon had told him that: “I don’t believe you deserve to be stuck in this chair. I’ll back you if you back yourself.”
With the motivation and ahead of his performance in 2012, the deceased Singer said that “I was bedridden and never came out of the house.
“My music was never heard. My biggest dream would be to give hope to people who are my size. I hope the judges will look past my exterior and give a fat boy a chance.”
On the show, Freddie became popular with judges, Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid, Demi Lovato and Britney Spears. He received four votes to get through to the next round.
He equally got popular with the viewers, and this can be attributed to his powerful rendition of Bette Midler’s “Wind Beneath My Wings”, a number which he dedicated to his “ever loving wife” . During the audition, he got a standing ovation from the audience.
Freddie spent most of his life in church ministry preaching the gospel, singing and praising the Lord Jesus Christ.
