Recall that sometime last month, Brazilian football legend, Pele was hospitalised, and this raised alot of concern for his fans and mostly football lovers.
However,from reports, he was discharged yesterday following his good recuperating.
Pele was diagnosed of having a surgery to remove a tumour from his colon, which was successfully done as he spent time in the intensive care unit at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo.
Pele, who will turn 81 this October, was delighted to be returning home to continue his rehabilitation.
Speaking about his recovery, he said:
“When the path is difficult, celebrate each step of the journey. Focus on your happiness,” Pele wrote in an Instagram post.
“It’s true that I can’t jump anymore, but these past few days, I’ve been punching the air more times than usual. I am so happy to be back at home.
“I want to thank the entire Albert Einstein Hospital team, who made my stay a pleasant one, with a humane and very affectionate welcome.
“Thanks also to all of you, who from afar, make my life complete with so many messages of love.” he concluded.
Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known as Pelé, is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a forward.
He’s regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and labelled “the greatest” by FIFA. Pele was also among the most successful and popular sports figures of the 20th century.
