Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain met in last year’s UEFA champions league semifinal, where city got the shone over the French team.

The two teams were again drawn in the same group during this current campaign, which on the first leg, PSG did better than Manchester City at Parc De Prince, with the match ending at 2:0 in their favour.

PSG would have loved to maintain that momentum but what was seen at Manchester wasn’t what they really expected and so were outplayed.

City will have to finish the group as leaders, after securing that victory, and becoming the second English team to finish their group as leaders in five successive seasons.

It was hard to believe that City fell behind just five minutes after the restart of second half with a Kylian Mbappe’s goal, but came back and won the game, with both Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus scoring.

“Yes we played really well,in an exciting manner, very impressive” City coach, Guardiola told the journalist.

“Fans really enjoy watching us and we also enjoy playing, been able to keep to this form makes it more exciting,” he added.

Worthy of note is the fact that City were able to win without the availablity of most of their key players, with the likes of Kevin de Brune, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish, Oleksandr Zinchenko starting in a central midfield role.

Fortunately for Guardiola, the tactics and move worked for him, and he praised his team for the way they handled Messi, Mbappe and Neymar.

“Paris Saint Germain, what a team, what a player, very impressive,” Guardiola continued.

“These world class players,we always try to keep them away from our post because anything can happen when given a chance.

“Except for five minutes after we conceded, when they [went for the] knockout on the counter-attack but couldn’t finish, we made a very impressive runs and dribbles.

“I am very happy to be on the next stage and I know the players are also feeling same way, this has been many years of doing so consistently.

“Probably now our focus will be in the premier league, and try to be in the best position to return during the February,to be able to make sure we go through to the quarter final of the tournament,” Guardiola added in conclusion.
