French international and striker Karim Benzema, showed his worth in France and Spain, having played former Lyon in France and playing for Real Madrid in Spain.
Although since his move to the Spanish giant in 2008, Benzema has been in good form, but he hasn’t been that consistent in form, probably overshadowed by one of the world best players, Christiano Ronaldo after his 2008 summer move to the Spanish Giant and one of the galacticos.
Since the start of last season, the French international has been in top form for club and country, he was opportuned to be called back to represent his country after being suspended for some individual reasons.
Thibaut Courtois may have been brilliant in goal, with Eder Militao and David Alaba gelling in defence.
While Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric undoubtedly form one of the best midfield tridents in Europe, but it is Karim Benzema who has stood out the most for Real Madrid in 2021.
The Frenchman tops the LaLiga Santander rankings in total shots produced, efforts on target and goals scored in this calendar year, with his numbers excellent once again.
No player has scored more goals than Benzema’s 15 in 2021/22, followed by Real Betis forward Juanmi (11) and Vinicius (10).
In 2021, Benzema registered 139 shots, followed by Lionel Messi (111), who departed Barcelona back in August.
The France international has also managed 66 shots on target compared to Messi’s 48 and has scored 30 times in LaLiga Santander, with the Argentine netting 23 before leaving the Blaugrana.
“He adds great ability and scoring consistency to his football,” coach Carlo Ancelotti said recently, when discussing the Frenchman.
“He has as much ability as Cristiano [Ronaldo] or [Erling] Haaland. He is a player who makes the difference.”
The French striker will be looking to extend his top form to next season after having impressed for three seasons at a stretch.
