Betty White’s Agent Sets the Record Straight About Her Cause of Death

Popular actress Betty White passed away at the age of 99 on Dec. 31. As movie industry Hollywood continues to mourn the loss.

The deceased actress’s longtime friend and agent, Jeff Witjas, is also trying to clear up the air about the false rumours surrounding her death.

According to Jeff Witjas, the Golden Girls alum “died peacefully in her sleep at her home.”

He went further to state that: “People are saying her death was related to getting a booster shot three days earlier but that is not true.”

It was noted that: She died of natural causes,” Witjas told NBC News on Monday, Jan. 3. “Her death should not be politicized—that is not the life she lived.”

Based on the email linked with associate press, Agent Witjas also debunked what he called a fake and false comments termed to be made by the actress and further explained that White did not receive the booster on the purported date.

He finally added that the “Betty never said this,” he said.

During her last interview before she passed away Betty said she’s “so lucky to be in such good health and feel so good at this age.”

In the cover story, which was published weeks before what would’ve been White’s 100th birthday, the TV star also joked that her secret to a long life was “to avoid anything green.”

After she was announced dead, condolence messages were sent in by Hollywood stars, wishing her a perfect rest.

Robert Redford—whom the TV star previously said she admired— said in a statement when he was interviewed: “Betty lived life devoted to her craft and her love of animals. She made us all laugh, including me. I had a crush on her too!”

Actor Ryan Reynolds, who was opportuned to play her grandson in 2009’s The Proposal, also paid tribute to White in a moving statement.

According to Ryan’s post on Instagram he said: “The world looks different now, she was great at defying expectation. She managed to grow very old and somehow, not old enough. We’ll miss you, Betty.”

Many felt heartbroken as she was announced dead. Betty White had just few days to her 100th birthday anniversary but couldn’t make it. She surely won’t be forgotten so easily and will be missed greatly.
